The new Facebook

Recently, I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about the new Facebook design changes. Posts like “Change it back!!” and “This sucks” were all over Facebook yesterday morning. I myself didn’t get a chance to see the changes until yesterday evening because Facebook is blocked at work. I didn’t mind what I’d seen so much, I actually enjoy it when things like this change.

MG Seigler who writes for TechCrunch also likes the changes, and for much more reasons than I could’ve known. He is also excited about the direction Facebook is going, its next evolution. Mark Zuckerberg unveiled these new features at the f8 conference in San Francisco yesterday.

  1. I’m indifferent. I don’t spend that much time on Facebook to care. However, I would prefer a chronological listing, which apparently moved to the real-time ticker in the upper right corner of the browser. One thing I don’t like that Facebook implemented is the Subscribe feature. Too much Google+ and makes me wonder if privacy has once again gone out the Window. We all know how MySpace got into the “me too” rut of adding tons of crap to their bloated music-laden website. It would be a shame if Facebook fell into that rut as well.
